During the last of week of June, SMART Myanmar hosted a 3-day "HR Management Lab" Level 1 of 2019 workshop from June 26th to June 28th from 9am to 5pm at GTI Insein. This 3-day interactive workshop is led by technical experts from SMART Myanmar's social compliance team with both English and Myanmar, mainly Myanmar language and the workshop is focused to teach best practices in garment factory on HR management system, effective problem solving and effective training as well as policy based improvements. SMART's technical experts are presented on strategic HR management and responsibility, especially HR planning, the importance of root cause analysis, how to properly calculate and analyze turnover rates, HR action plans, best systems for handling remuneration, recruitment processes, effective communication within large organizations, handling grievances and training development.
A total 22 participants from 13 factories attended this training, mostly middle-management managers and staff from garment factory HR departments. The participants involved were very satisfied with the training workshop, recognizing that the knowledge acquired will be instrumental for their day-to-day HR activities. After completion of three days training, certificates of completion were awarded to each of the participants who attended all 3 days.
