SMART Myanmar conducts CRM workshop for UMFCCI and MGMA

CRMThe SMART Myanmar project has conducted a workshop on Client Relationship Management (CRM) to increase the participants knowledge and understanding on CRM and inform and demonstrate to them the fundamental uses of CRM system. The workshop was attended by participants from Republic of the Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (UMFCCI) and Myanmar Garments Manufacturers Association(MGMA).

During the discussions, the participants have learned the main benefits of having a CRM system in place and the importance of selecting the right system from the market that would suit the needs of their businesses. The workshop also served as a platform for the participants to think and decide what are the elements they need for an effective and successful CRM system that will helped them grow their businesses.

Other areas tackled during the workshop are the financial benefits of using a CRM system like online marketing (e-shots, e-newsletter and email), online invoicing, reduced administration time (one action can populate the entire CRM so no need for duplicating actions), delegate lists for events or training (the CRM system can manage the process from delegate sign-up to post event survey), and so on.

Amanda Pilgrim from the Sheffield Chamber of Commerce said “This is an interesting subject and the delegates showed real enthusiasm for CRM. It is important that the right customer relationship strategy and culture is established within a business before starting to look at automated ways of supporting it. I was able to demonstrate the journey that the Sheffield Chamber of Commerce had been on to get to a strong CRM system and then show the delegates the resulting CRM system”.

To appreciate how a CRM system work, the participants were given the opportunity to learn from the newly formed CRM system for the Sheffield Chamber of Commerce (SCC), and were able to see the things they have learned from the workshop put into practice. The SCC CRM system is specifically designed for membership organizations that can be easily adapted to support UMFCCI and MGMA.
